Largest Mass Timber Office Block in the UK

Following changes to fire-safety requirements, the client developed a large-scale office building using mass-timber construction. The project required construction methods to be reassessed in response to stricter regulations and industry concerns regarding insurance and the use of timber in commercial buildings.

The development involved resolving technical uncertainties relating to fire performance, regulatory compliance, construction methodology and the practical use of mass timber at scale. By addressing these challenges through innovative design and engineering approaches, the project demonstrated an advancement in construction capability and supported the R&D claim.

Sustainable Office Building
